The show is going well! All the horses are behaving and we are all working towards our goals!
During the evenings Scott and I have been hanging out at our trailer. We have a nice spot and are all settled into glamping life.
All the comforts from home!
We love this little trailer, it is so perfect!
My cooking station, last night our meal was not too fancy. But notice we have the cutting playing as I cook? We love cutting!
Spicy Brown Mustard was a hit with the sausages we bbq'ed up!
And as I ate a bag of Doritos I learned how Jessica Simpson lost her baby weight. I am so bad!
Happy Friday peeps!

Cowgirl Melissa Good Taste does it again! This time my champion mount was "This Cats Dazzlin" also known as "Winnie" to most of my friends. Winnie and I are long term friends, but let me introduce you to her current siblings... She has family!
Meet Roxy:
This is Winnie's mom! Isn't she a beauty? It is no wonder her children are little stunners...
The first baby born out of Roxy is "Roddy"- named after a great steer wrestler, Roddy Watson from the Big Sky Country. His daddy is Fresnos Ima Master.
This is Winnie if course, the middle child. (Like me!!) Her proud papa is WR This Cats Smart.
This is little "Kassie" she is the baby of the group and her daddy is Hick Chicaroo. Her formal name is "A Dazzlin Roo" and I cannot wait to bet on the grey! ;)
The El Rancho Futurity Horse Show was outstanding, I marked a 222 - My highest score ever and won my first aged event. I have never felt more accomplished in the show pen than I felt today. When your hot, your hot! These are the days I will always cherish and hold on to. Loving life...

End of Summer Eats - Ojai, CA

Summer is coming to an end and that usually means our evenings BBQ's stop. I fired up the grill, dusted off the patio furniture and popped open a cold one.
Grilled chicken breasts, corn on the cob and a watermelon salad rounded out our plates. It was an outstanding meal, you know when everything tastes healthy and you just feel happy to be alive? I live for these warm Ojai evenings.
The Watermelon Salad is amazing. You should try it before it is Fall/Winter and we are all embracing pumpkins and squash!
Watermelon Salad: (Serves 2)1/2 Mini Seedless Watermelon sliced into one inch cubes1 handful chopped cilantro1/2 jalapeno choppedA handful of Crumbled Feta, maybe a little more (I eat it as I pour)Olive Oil - Balsamic Vinegar drizzleSalt - Pepper to taste
Mix it all up together and let it chill in the refrigerator. The long it sits the better it is, I promise.

Eating the "Weis" Way - Ojai, CA

I started this blog four years ago for my deep appreciation of food. Other people cooking it for me, of course, so I could review it and document my experience that day. A hobby, if you will. It has now blossomed into a peek into my life as a horse trainer's wife, a cutting horse competitor and amateur cook. We have turned into quite the duo in the kitchen and I would love to share this end of summer dish that we both enjoy so much.
SalmonSo healthy for you and the easiest thing in the world to make. Ask your fish monger to make sure the bones are removed from a 5 - 6 oz filet. It is a perfect portion of fish that I manage to gobble up just fine. In 425 degree oven, let cook for 15 minutes. I vary the spices each time I make the dish but make it a play on salt, pepper, lemon, chile, or brown sugar and you will be doing great, I promise.
CornMy husband is crazy for corn. Not the frozen or canned stuff either. Just buy an ear of corn, slice the kernels of the cob, and whirl it around a hot pan. Besides a little love from salt and pepper not much else is needed to make it perfect. If you are up for a little bit of butter you could add that but really fresh corn doesn't need it.
Watermelon SaladI made this dish one day this summer and my husband has been hooked ever since. I have posted the recipe on Melissa Good Taste many times but it is basically watermelon, cilantro (can use mint or basil as well), jalapeno (totally optional if you don't like spice), feta cheese, just a kiss of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix it up and let rest in fridge as long as you like. Last night, I threw in bacon and served the salad on top of arugula and it was amazing!
On another note I was featured in the Cutting Horse Chatter - a beautiful ad showcasing my great horse, "Hallowed Be"... So cool and such a surprise!
Have a wonderful day!

Happy Rooster - San Juan Bautista, CA

San Juan Bautista will also be home to me. I went back this weekend to help my Mom sort through some things because she is re-molding her kitchen. It is a lot of work! Anyhow, she informed that there was a new restaurant in San Juan so we took a break from cleaning to meet my dad and brother for supper. The Happy Rooster is located on the main drag in San Juan just doors from the San Juan Bakery.
As I browsed the menu I asked for a glass of house Chardonnay. It was very good and only five dollars. Light and refreshing!
You all know i love soup and have ordered a cup of the it from everywhere I eat. It usually determines the quality of the rest of the meal. And, their soup was amazing! I ordered the Lentil and it was just outstanding. My brother fought for the last few spoonfuls. My dad had the Minestrone and said he could just have that for dinner with French bread and be happy.
I love Sand Dabs so when I saw them on their menu I was sold. The fish was cooked wonderfully and I enjoyed the cream sauce that was served. I just wished there was more of it. On the side there were vegetables and a large serving of mashed potatoes. I would most definitely order this again.
My mom ordered the Chicken Marsala because she always does. Everywhere she sees it on the menu that is what she orderes. The chicken was pounded finely and cooked to perfection. The creamy wine sauce with sauteed mushrooms was done very well. A healthy serving of rice and vegetables loaded up her plate.
My dad wanted the Beef Ravioli and that is what he got. Lots of it! He only had half but only because he was too full. The rest was boxed up and taken home for tomorrow's lunch.
I was so happy to have had such a wonderful experience. San Juan Bautista is so lucky to have two great Mexican food restaurants but it is now complete with this eatery as well. Look forward to lots of steak, chicken, seafood and pasta dishes on their menu.

Lady Gaga shaved her head as a tribute to her friend's late mother

These pictures were posted on Twitter by Lady Gaga. Born This Way singer Lady Gaga unveiled her dramatic new hairdo on Twitter recently, explaining it was to honour her close friend Terry Richardson's mum Annie Lomax, who passed away aged 74.

The eccentric pop star posted a photograph of the back of her head on the social network, revealing a large shaved section at the bottom, along with a caption which references her new track Princess D.I.E, a tribute to the late Princess Diana.

Lady Gaga wrote: "I did it for u Terry. I'm sorry about ure mommy. She has princess die, but were all princess high."

The 26-year-old superstar was keen to prove to her fans she hadn't cut all her hair off, adding a picture of her with her long brown hair in a top knot. She commented: "But we still have glamour in the front."

Lady Gaga and renowned photographer Terry - who is best known for shooting raunchy pictures of the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Kate Moss - have been friends for years, and he was the mastermind behind her Monster Ball tour photo book, Lady Gaga X Terry Richardson.

Terry has documented his mother's last moments on film on his Tumblr page, where he wrote: "R.I.P. Annie Lomax, My Mom 1938-2012."

Lady Gaga is famed for her ever-changing look and collection of wigs, rocking blonde, orange, grey and pink hair in the last year alone.

Lady Gaga caused a stir in August by dyeing her hair a natural-looking shade of brown.

She tweeted at the time: "Definitely feeling less blond lately and little more progressive brunette. I am LOUIS VUITTON BROWN. B**** THATS LV."

Giants Deal With Loss: Assistant’s Mustache

To contact us Click HERE
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Kevin Gilbride’s mustache, a legendary lip adornment that won two Super Bowl championships and was respected as one of the most enduring examples of responsible facial hair in sports, died last month in a shaving accident at the Giants’ practice facility here. It was believed to be about 41.
Nathaniel Brooks for The New York Times
The offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride in 2010.
Gilbride, the offensive coordinator of the Giants since 2007 and a football coach since 1974, confirmed the death in an interview Thursday by pointing to his face. The cause was an inadvertent cutting of half the mustache when Gilbride, 61, was momentarily distracted by something a fellow coach said as he was performing some routine trimming in the days leading up to the Giants’ Aug. 24 preseason game with Chicago.
Left with part of his lip clean and part of it covered, Gilbride said, there was no option but euthanize the rest of the mustache.
“It was difficult,” Gilbride said. “But at that point, I had no choice.”
Not surprisingly, the mustache’s sudden demise prompted emotional responses. Gilbride’s mustache had a storied career, at one point being the target of an infamous punch from Buddy Ryan on the sideline in 1994, but more recently featuring prominently as the Giants won N.F.L. titles during the 2007 and 2011 seasons. Gilbride did not address the accident with his players when he ran the offensive unit meeting a day afterward, but said he could tell just by looking around the room that the loss made an impact.
“It was just shocking,” the Giants backup quarterback David Carr said. “I think it’s bigger than if it happened to Tom Selleck, honestly. It had been there so long you almost wondered, like, what’s under there?”
In the days since, fans have expressed dismay. Representatives from the company Party City even sent a fake white mustache to the Giants as a possible replacement so that Gilbride would not feel uncomfortable, though Gilbride declined to wear it.
“When we lost to Dallas, they sent more!” Gilbride said. “Believe me, if I knew that was why we won the Super Bowls, I’d wear them.”
Gilbride added that his granddaughter, upon seeing him sans mustache, remarked, “Pop, you look weird!” Initially, Gilbride said, his plan was to regrow the mustache from scratch. After several players, including offensive lineman Chris Snee, told him that he looked “5 to 10 years younger now,” he is reconsidering. Going cleanshaven would be significant. Gilbride first grew the mustache as a student at Southern Connecticut State in the early 1970s, he said, noting that “at that time, with everything that was going on in the world, everyone was doing something.” It fit well, he said, with his long, curly hair then and helped offset what he said was a pronounced baby face. He had had it ever since, he said, save for a two-year “California phase” when he was the head coach of the San Diego Chargers from 1997 to 1998.
“In the beginning, I wanted it because it made me look older,” he said. “Now, it’s the opposite. So I’m not sure what I’m going to do.”
While perhaps not as famous as other mustaches in the sports world — even at its peak, Gilbride’s was never as popular as, say, that of the former Met Keith Hernandez — it nonetheless resonated within the mustachioed community.
Aaron Perlut, the chairman of the American Mustache Institute, said in an interview that Gilbride’s mustache was a perfect example of the so-called Chevron design, which is “your standard-issue, law enforcement-style mustache.” Perlut admired Gilbride’s consistency, he said, as Gilbride stuck with the same look throughout his career, eschewing styles used by other N.F.L. personalities like “Andy Reid’s walrus or Shad Khan’s Mario Brothers Handlebar.”
Perlut added that the institute was saddened to hear of Gilbride’s loss but hoped the coach would reconsider his decision to potentially remain hairless around the mouth.
“We’d remind Mr. Gilbride that there are religious ramifications,” Perlut said. “According to the Dead Sea Scrolls, each time a mustache is shaved an angel falls to Earth from Heaven.”

Evan Pinkus
He is considering regrowing his mustache after a shaving accident last month.

Survivors in the Giants’ locker room include defensive tackle Rocky Bernard’s well-kept growth, known as a Skyraider, according to the mustache institute Web site. Asked if his son, Kevin Jr., who is also a Giants coach, would consider growing a mustache, Gilbride shook his head. “He’s cleanshaven all the way, I think,” Gilbride said.
Giants players, especially veterans who have been around Gilbride for many years, expressed disbelief about the possibility the mustache might not return. Kevin Boothe, an offensive lineman, said he was stunned when he first saw Gilbride without it and did not know what to say.
“At first, I just kept staring because I knew something was different but I just couldn’t figure out what — it was like it didn’t even occur to me that it could be the mustache,” Boothe said. “It took a while to sink in. I remember seeing him on TV, way back when, and that mustache was there. It was always there. It was epic.”

“5 Fall Makeup Must Haves By Celebrity Makeup Artist David Maderich”

by Serafinosays on September 12, 2012 Photographer: Julia Pogodina / Makeup: David MaderichWritten By: Celebrity Makeup Artist @DavidMaderich… AKA Mister Makeup
It’s finally fall, darling.  Time to put the bronzer and self-tanner on the shelf and update your cosmetics bag.  Read my top five tips to welcome fall 2012.
5 Fall Makeup Must Haves:
MERLOT LIPS
If you add one new beauty item to your purse this season, let it be Merlot hued lips.  Deep wine lips look good on everyone.  Be sure to use a brush or pencil to keep the dark shade precise and neat.  Keep the rest of your face bare – clean skin and mascara – for full impact. Try Lancome L’Absolu Rouge in Merlot
PEACOCK COLORED SHADOWS
Bright colored eyes were all the rage on the runways for fall 2012.  Choose bright blues, royal purples and lush lavenders.  How to wear bright color? Wrap the entire eye in shadow for a colorful smoky eye or for the color timid, use a bright hue as eyeliner for subtle fall flair.  Try Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow
WINGED EYELINER
Winged eyeliner adds instant sophistication and drama to any look.  Black liner is de rigueur, but a colored liner will add instant fun to your look.  How to get perfect wings?  Hold a credit card at an angle at your outer eye and draw you line – instant perfect wings. Try MAC Cosmetics Liquidlast Liner in black
BLUE MASCARA
Black mascara is a fashion staple, but this fall colored mascaras are the talk of the town.  I like to match my colored shadow to my colored mascara for a chic disco monochromatic feel.  For more subtle results, tip your lashes with colored mascara for extra zing.  Try Diorshow Mascara in Azure Blue.
NUDE FACES
With color making such a bold statement this season, keep the skin clean and fresh.  Yes, nude faces are a must. No more flushed cheeks  – try subtle beige’s or taupe’s to contour and highlight the cheeks. Try NARS Blush in NICO.
